So you want to know what a food tasting is? For me, it means I'm inviting people into my home to test their senses on main course entres I'm working on. Key pieces are presentation and flavor. I'll be lucky if I can convince anyone to stand in as a server, so reserve those nags for friendly poking. I'm inviting people who I want to enjoy my cooking, but who are also willing to be completely truthful in their judgement of the food placed before them. And, because I don't hate my friends, they will know what main course they are coming to taste and judge. I'm not going to spring crazy foods like salmon roe ice cream on them without them knowing (NO, you won't find that on my menu anywhere!).
